Central Pacific of Costa Rica / Puntarenas:
In Turrialba you are going to find a lot of rivers and waterfalls in its great ecosystem, as well as two great volcanoes, Irazu and Turrialba. It is located between Cartago and Limon in a mountain valley at about 1 hour and a half drive from San Jose.
To the north lies Braulio Carrillo National Park which has a lot of flora and fauna; and to the south lies the second highest peak in Central America, Mount Chirripo (13000 feet). To the south you find the Chirripo Atlantic river basin, known as the Grand Canyon Of Costa Rica and to the eastward you find the Reventazon River.
The central town is small but here you can find a lot of things to do. There are nice restaurants, three nigh dance clubs, gymnasiums and more. Also if you want something more adventurous here you will find a lot of outdoor activities to do like: mountain biking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, bungee jumping and more.
The Turrialba valley has a great diversity of habitats and is one of the most important water suppliers and in the production of hydro electrical power. In this area there is a lot of wildlife, finding more than 700 types of mammals and birds.
