San Jose has a population of approximately 750 000 people and has an altitude of 1100 mts above sea level. During all the year it has a really nice temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius.

During the weekends people usually go to malls, to the movies, pubs, concerts or to the soccer stadiums to support their favorite team.

People of the Central Valley have been influenced by the North American and European culture, making it an ideal place for locals and foreigners to learn about one another. A reasonable amount of people have taken basic english courses and would make the best effor to speak English, trying to assist you and practice at the same time.

In the Great Metropolitan Area you will find the largest amount of cultural destinations (theaters, museums and art galleries), night clubs, bars and restaurants. Some of the cultural places you can visit are: the National Theatre, Costa Rica National Museum, Jade Museum, Costa Rica Art Museum and the Gold Museum.
